Leeds United standout up for Premier League award alongside Liverpool & Man City stars

Leeds United fans can now vote for their in-form star.

Red-hot Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been nominated for December’s PFA Premier League Player of the Month.

Calvert-Lewin enjoyed a brilliant end to 2025, scoring in all five Premier League fixtures Leeds had through December. The in-form frontman bagged a brace in last month’s 4-1 thumping of Crystal Palace at Elland Road while scoring one against each of Chelsea, Liverpool, Brentford and Sunderland.

Those goals helped propel Leeds out of the relegation zone, with Daniel Farke’s side taking nine points from an unbeaten five-game month, while also pulling Calvert-Lewin up to joint-fourth in the Premier League goalscoring charts with eight for the season. And the striker is now in with a chance of being named the month’s best player.

The PFA released their six-man shortlist on Wednesday, ahead of Leeds’ trip to Newcastle, with Calvert-Lewin joining five other in-form stars across the Premier League. Among them is Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who scored braces against West Ham and Crystal Palace as part of a five goal and three assist month.

Haaland’s City teammate Phil Foden has also been nominated thanks to his four goals and one assist in the first three games of December, Hugo Ekitike of Liverpool could also claim the award having scored five times - including twice in a dramatic 3-3 draw at Leeds. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is also shortlisted with four goals and one assist.

Harry Wilson could have been playing alongside Calvert-Lewin at Leeds if his deadline-day move to Elland Road went through, but he is instead proving Fulham’s most important attacker. The Welsh international registered two goals and four assists in December, enough to claim the final nomination.

Leeds United fans can now vote for Dominic Calvert-Lewin

With the public vote now open here, Leeds fans have the chance to see Calvert-Lewin crowned the Premier League’s top player for December and it would be deserved. No one else on the six-man shortlist managed six goals during the month and it could be argued no one was more influential on their team’s results.

“Right now he’s on the on a path to be a top-class player for Leeds United and also a Leeds United hero,” Farke said of Calvert-Lewin after his brilliant brace against Palace last month. “But you know my attitude - I don’t like to speak about quality and top-class players just after a few weeks or a good couple couple of months.

“You have to show this with consistency over the whole season. But if he keeps going in this way and keeps delivering, then we would speak about an outstanding season. I want him to keep going, not to be happy with a good couple of months and a good few weeks, so he has to continue.”

Calvert-Lewin’s form through December played a major role in Leeds climbing out of the bottom three, and they are now eight points clear of a West Ham side who haven’t won since early November. That gap could increase further if the Whites take anything from Newcastle this evening and their in-form striker is likely to play a major role in any success.
