Leeds United announce summer tour of USA with trio of games including Liverpool clash in Chicago
Leeds United’s summer 2026 plans have been confirmed.
Leeds United are set to return to the United States for the first time in 29 years this summer for a three-game pre-season tour.
The Whites have confirmed their summer plans, which include games against Wrexham, Sunderland and Liverpool. Leeds will be based on the East Coast for the duration of their tour and take in a trio of major cities for their fixtures.
A club statement said: "Daniel Farke’s side will start out in Tampa, Florida, taking on Sky Bet Championship side Wrexham AFC, who currently find themselves sat in the play-off places as they aim to challenge for promotion in the closing stages of the season. Following this, Leeds will head north to New Jersey to take on fellow Premier League side Sunderland AFC, with the Black Cats enjoying an impressive return to the top-flight this term, at New York Red Bulls’ Sports Illustrated Stadium.
"The tour will finish with a huge match against 2024/25 Premier League champions Liverpool, who the Whites went undefeated against throughout the current campaign, which will be held at Soldier Field, home of Chicago Fire and the Chicago Bears."
Leeds plan to hold fan activities during the trip and the club's chief business officer Morrie Eisenberg says the team will be given the right environment to prepare properly for the 2026/27 season.
“We are delighted to have been invited to visit the US this pre-season, with the opportunity to play three great matches at three fantastic venues. This is a great chance to grow our global presence, work with our commercial partners and most importantly provide the first team squad with outstanding training facilities to prepare for the new season.
“I hope supporters are as excited at the prospect of playing in the US for the first time in nearly 30 years as we are, and we can’t wait to see our famous following on the other side of the pond.”
Leeds take on Wrexham at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Saturday July 25, travel to the Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey to face Sunderland on Thursday July 30 and finish with the Chicago game against Liverpool on Sunday August 2.
Pre-sale tickets for all three matches are due to go on sale on Tuesday March 10 at 4pm.
