Leeds United told to sign 19-goal star and 'made enquiries' transfer claim made
The latest Leeds United transfer rumours as the Elland Road side look to bolster their side in the hope of staving off Premier League relegation.
Leeds United have been urged to make a move for Feyenoord forward Ayase Ueda, who has been impressive in front of goal this season.
Broadcaster and European football journalist Andy Brassell has given high praise to the Japanese international and declared that he would be a good piece of business for the Yorkshire side this January as they look to improve their record in front of goal.
Coached by legendary Netherlands and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, Ueda has scored 19 in 21 matches in all competitions and has bagged more league goals (18) than Harry Kane (17), Kylian Mbappe (16) and Erling Haaland (15).
A persistent problem for Daniel Farke’s side this season has been finding the net, and even though there has been an upward turn with six goals in two games against Chelsea and Liverpool, there is still room for improvement from the forward line.
Brassell, speaking on talkSPORT, said: "What's remarkable about him is that he scores lots of different types of goals. He has got that presence in the box. If you look at his height, you wouldn't say this is a guy who's going to get a third of his goals in the air. But he is a really, really good dominator of those central spaces; he's a really good header of the ball, as well as being able to get behind and run behind.
"So he's almost like two strikers in one, really. I think the way that Feyenoord play and the way that they create chances has enabled him to become that kind of player. The way that he's come out of the blocks, and of course it's unavoidable to say the way that he's been coached by Robin Van Persie, and that clearly helps."

And on the subject of who should make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window, the European football expert said: "I wonder if a bottom-half Premier League team has a dart for him next summer or maybe even as early as January, depending on where they're at. He's kind of got Leeds written all over him. There's a lot to like about them, but where are the guys putting it in the back of the net?
"There are big question marks over the sustainability over the period of a season for both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha. So I wonder if you throw in Ueda in the mix and make use of that hot-hand syndrome. This guy's in great nick at the moment.
"Why don't we get him in now and just let him continue that great season, but at our place? If you're Feyenoord and a Premier League club comes in with a proper offer, I think it's quite hard to say no. However ambitious Van Persie is, I think a big offer tempts you."
Scottish star on Leeds’ radar
Leeds have made initial enquiries on the availability of Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan, reports the Daily Mail.
They report that a January move is being considered. However, the club face stiff competition as their Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest are also interested.
Mulligan has impressed this season and has been called up by Steve Clarke for the Scotland national side, who he will be hoping to represent at their first World Cup in 28 years.
