Daniel Farke has already shut down bizarre Leeds United and Everton transfer report

The Leeds United boss spoke on January ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace.

Daniel Farke has already insisted he has no plans to lose any current Leeds United players next month amid bizarre reports surrounding one of his most important stars.

A report from Football Insider on Saturday claimed Jayden Bogle was on the radar of a Premier League rival, with Everton ‘keeping tabs’ on the right-back. David Moyes is keen to strengthen the position once the transfer window opens next month with recruitment chiefs supposedly shortlisting the Leeds man.

While Leeds would certainly make a hefty profit on Bogle, who joined in a £5million from Sheffield United in 2024, they will have no intention of selling someone who has become one of Farke’s most trusted squad members. The 25-year-old is one of only two players to start every Premier League game this season, the other being Joe Rodon.

Bogle is likely to be admired by several Premier League rivals, given the quality of his performances this season, but that matters little with Leeds not looking to sell. And speaking ahead of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace, Farke insisted there are no such plans to offload anyone, regular starter or not.

Daniel Farke’s transfer comments amid Everton Jayden Bogle links

"You have to ask the players not playing that much if they're happy," Farke said. "I have no indication that anyone wants to leave. The spirit and togetherness is outstanding, it's a joy to work with them. You can't build a successful group when you just have 11 players.

“More or less every player has started or has minutes for us. I don't have any motivation to give one member of our group away in January. It's the market and if we can improve by doing a change we should be open to this but all players with us are strongly in my plans."

Farke’s response was to a question based on those on the fringes of his first-team plans -the likes of Joel Piroe - and his stance on exits is likely to be even stronger when it comes to regular starters. Bogle has emerged as a candidate for Player of the Season already and become even more important following the recent switch to a 3-5-2.

The former Sheffield United man has been given the freedom of his right-hand side and done little wrong, defending well for large parts and bursting forward at every opportunity. He and left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson have both been excellent in recent weeks and a large part of Leeds’ success.

More greedy Leeds fans might even want to see Farke’s full-back area strengthened in January, rather than weakened, given its growing importance in the new formation. The versatile James Justin, signed from Leicester City in the summer, is first-choice cover option for both sides while Sam Byram can also fill either gap, but at 32-years-old might struggle with the increased physical demands of a wing-back.
