£10m Leeds United target set for summer free transfer amid Everton & Sunderland interest

Leeds United are thought to retain an interest in the red-hot Premier League star.

A 2025 Leeds United transfer target could be available for free this summer with several potential Premier League suitors emerging.

Harry Wilson was the subject of a deadline-day Leeds transfer pursuit ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Elland Road chiefs submitting a bid believed to be worth around £10million in total. A flight was booked to bring the Welshman from his international training base in Cardiff to West Yorkshire, with a deal sheet submitted to the Premier League allowing for extra time beyond the 11pm deadline.

Fulham eventually pulled out of the deal at the death, leaving Leeds without the right-winger/No.10 profile they so needed, and Wilson has been in scintillating form this season. The 28-year-old has seven goals and four assists as the only Cottagers player to hit double figures for combined goal involvements.

But with Wilson’s Craven Cottage contract expiring in the summer, there is growing uncertainty over his future beyond this season. TalkSPORT reports the attacking midfielder is currently leaning towards a summer move away from Fulham, with Premier League interest in his signature growing.

Leeds are said to ‘retain a strong interest’ in Wilson and will need a longer-term option for that right-wing/No.10 role come summer. The Whites signed Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton last week but he will be expected to head back to the south coast at the end of this season.

Competition expected for Leeds United target Harry Wilson

But the opportunity to sign Wilson for free is inevitably attracting competition with Everton, Sunderland and Crystal Palace also named as potential suitors. Should the Welshman decide to leave Fulham, he will have no shortage of options and will be able to command a hefty signing-on fee and wage packet.

Any exit is expected to be in the summer, with Fulham boss Marco Silva insisting he will not lose his top-scorer midway through the season, even if it means losing out on a transfer fee. Craven Cottage chiefs remain in talks over a potential new deal but as of yet, it feels unlikely anything will be signed.

Wilson could even start speaking with foreign clubs over a pre-contract agreement right now ahead of a summer move. He cannot be in contact with any of Fulham’s domestic rivals, however, with Leeds and others not able to discuss a move until his Craven Cottage deal expires.

Elland Road chiefs might hope their previous interest in Wilson prior to his free-agent status hands them a potential edge. A move to West Yorkshire would also see him play alongside compatriots Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon, Dan James and Karl Darlow.

Leeds will also take confidence knowing they beat off competition for free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin last summer, with the experienced striker turning down a late offer from a Champions League club to join Daniel Farke’s squad. The Whites also pipped relegation rivals Burnley to Lukas Nmecha, who joined on a free after leaving VfL Wolfsburg.
