A special, stripped-back version of Jeff Wayne’s classic focusing on the music is set to take place next November
- Bradford Live is set to play host to a revised performance of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds.
- The 2-26 Concert Experience strips away the spectacle of the arena tours to focus purely on the original music.
- The production will still feature a full orchestra, live band, and West End artists performing the entire iconic 1970s double-album.
After the overwhelming success of its 2025 UK tour, Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds is set to hit the road once again late next year, with a date set to take place at the brand new Bradford Live venue.
However, those set to attend next year’s series of performances are in for something wholly different, according to organisers of the tour.

The new tour is stripping back its production, and while it doesn’t feature the large stage stars, spectacle or giant Martian fighting machines, the focus with this production is purely on the craftsmanship of the original 1970s double album - one of the longest-running albums to feature in the UK albums chart.
The performance, or “Concert Experience” as the organisers are referring to it, will still have the full live band, orchestra, animations and video elements, but is a rare opportunity for fans to focus purely on the performances and the show’s full musical potential, rather than the spectacle that we have come to know and love over the years.
The concept of the Concert Experience aims to get closer to the musical mind of its creator, as Jeff Wayne explains that performing in concert and theatre venues "will give the audiences a different perspective of my musical version, stripping the 'spectacle' of my arena tours back down to its foundation... the music.
"It’s therefore a great thrill to announce that a special concert rendition of my original double album is to tour the UK in October next year— a first of its kind on our home shores."
