Come April 25, the soaring vaulted ceilings of Leeds Minster will provide the backdrop for an extraordinary sensory experience: a high-energy silent disco.
Produced by Day Sessions, the event promises to transform one of the UK’s most breathtaking historic settings into a multi-sensory dance floor, swapping traditional choral echoes for three channels of curated beats.
The magic of the silent format allows the Minster’s architectural beauty to remain the star of the show, providing a grand, historic canvas while guests curate their own personal sonic journey through wireless LED headphones. This unique setup ensures the integrity of the space is preserved, even as it transforms into a high-energy dance floor.
Speaking about their return to the space this year, organisers admitted they “just had to come back” owing to the architecture and vibe of the building making the event even more special.
“Knowing the building has stood for nearly 200 years and the history of the church, we wanted to make sure our event respected the surroundings,” the told the Yorkshire Evening Post, “(and) we opted for a silent disco in this setting as opposed to our Day Sessions Over 30’s experience, as we felt the venue deserved a bit of intimacy and quiet.

Inside, partygoers have the freedom to toggle between three distinct worlds of sound, with those looking for a nostalgic trip tuning into ‘Timeless Classics,’ a curated selection of 80s, 90s, and 2000s hits perfect for those who want to belt out anthems at the top of their lungs.
For a more contemporary feel, the ‘Rhythmic Beats’ channel offers a deep dive into current R&B favourites and chart-toppers, while ‘Dance Vibes’ provides high-octane energy with a mix of house, techno, and the latest dance floor heaters.
The result is a striking visual contrast: a sea of glowing headphones and vibrant light reflecting off centuries-old stonework. It creates a rare atmosphere where hundreds of people share a collective party experience that remains entirely personal, all within one of the city's most iconic landmarks.
Established just last year, Day Sessions has quickly built a reputation for reclaiming unconventional spaces for the local community.
This upcoming takeover of Leeds Minster represents their most ambitious project to date - a bold, contemporary celebration that remains deeply respectful of the venue’s heritage.
