Interactive giant Trivial Pursuit board game to take over Leeds city centre to mark 400th anniversary
A live, interactive version of the classic board game Trivial Pursuit will take over the streets of Leeds city centre this summer to celebrate 400 years since the city was granted its royal charter
A massive, interactive version of the classic board game Trivial Pursuit will take over the streets of Leeds city centre this summer.
Organized by Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) in partnership with toy and games company Hasbro, the free city-wide attraction will run from July 25 to August 30.
The major summer event marks exactly 400 years since Leeds was first granted its royal charter in 1626 - but rather than a standard historical exhibition, the interactive experience will celebrate the history, heritage and major achievements of the city over the last four centuries.

Displays and trivia questions located across the city centre will highlight localised historical facts that helped shape national life.
A number of well-known personalities are involved in the project, appearing digitally to guide players through the questions and look ahead to the city's future, with television presenter Alex Zane recently spotted filming digital elements for the game on location in Roundhay Park.
Alex will join a wide line-up of digital contributors who will highlight the achievements of famous figures from Leeds - with interactive elements showcasing cultural pioneers, innovators, and sporting heroes, including Peter O'Toole, Melanie Brown, Marco Pierre White and Beryl Burton.
The project follows a series of successful large-scale summer installations organised by LeedsBID to drive city centre footfall and engagement.
Previous campaigns have included the Welcome to Leeds initiative, Wonderland Awaits, the Leeds Jurassic Trail, and the Street Rangers program.
Most notably, the Monopoly Leeds Takeover in the summer of 2024 achieved national recognition.
The project was officially showcased as an exemplary case study in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's Pride in Place strategy.
More details on the finalised game route, question locations, and instructions on how families can log on and take part are expected to be officially announced by LeedsBID next month.
