The ‘Godmother of Punk’ is set to storm the stage in Leeds this summer as Joan Jett And The Blackhearts announce their first UK headline tour in 16 years.
In what is being hailed as one of the most anticipated rock tours of the year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joan Jett, alongside The Blackhearts, is bringing her legendary high-energy show to the UK this July, with Leeds one of those lucky locations in question.
The tour marks the first time in 16 years that the band has embarked on a headline tour across the UK, ending a decade-and-a-half wait for some of the region's most dedicated rock fans.
For more than four decades, Joan Jett has been recognised as one of the most influential figures in music history.

From her early days as a founding member of The Runaways to her chart-topping success with The Blackhearts, she has remained a potent force and an inspiration to generations of fans worldwide.
Fans attending the Leeds date can expect a setlist packed with era-defining anthems. The tour will see the band performing timeless hits like I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll, Bad Reputation, and I Hate Myself For Loving You.
Despite a career that has spanned music, film, and Broadway, Jett shows no signs of slowing down, with her live performances still carrying the same raw, punk-rock grit that made her a household name in the late 1970s.
Speaking about the upcoming July dates, she reflected on her early career roots: “We can’t wait to be back on stage in the UK this summer! I wrote and recorded Bad Reputation, my first solo LP, in London.
“It's been too long since we've been in the UK, and we're excited to see everyone!”
Joining Joan Jett And The Blackhearts on the tour will be the rising UK Britpunk duo The Meffs; hailing from Colchester and fronted by powerhouse vocalist and guitarist Lily Hopkins, the band has earned a reputation for politically charged lyrics and a fierce DIY ethic.
They are described by tour organisers as the "perfect fit" for Jett - an artist who has been famously blowing the door to the "boys’ club" of rock 'n' roll off its hinges since 1979.
