'A lovely opportunity to experience the space': Night Market returns to Left Bank Leeds this week

Located in the heart of Hyde Park, the iconic converted church venue is opening its doors for a relaxed evening of local makers, vintage treasures, prints, and late-night drinks

As thousands of new and returning students settle into the city for the new academic year, one of the city's most iconic independent creative spaces is hosting a special autumn evening market aimed at bringing the local community together.

Left Bank Leeds - the striking, multi-use arts and community venue housed inside the former St Margaret's Church on Cardigan Road - will host its popular Night Market this week (September 25).

Taking place in the heart of Hyde Park and Burley, the event promises a relaxed alternative to traditional nights out, bringing together over 20 independent local traders alongside a late-night café and bar inside the Grade II* listed building.

Visitors can expect a wide array of handmade goods and unique finds, ranging from original prints, artwork, and badges to vintage clothing, vinyl records, and handcrafted accessories.

'A lovely opportunity to experience the space'

Speaking ahead of the event, Leah Anderson, Arts and Community Manager at Left Bank Leeds, highlighted the market as an ideal way for newcomers to explore both local creative talent and the historic venue itself.

Leah said: "Our Night Market is a great chance for students to discover something a little different, with 20+ independent vendors bringing prints, artwork, handmade pieces, badges, vinyls, vintage clothing, and plenty of other treasures to browse.

"It’s also a lovely opportunity to experience Left Bank itself, a beautiful and unusual space right in the heart of the Hyde Park community."

Beyond shopping, the venue’s internal café and bar will remain open throughout the evening, offering coffee, craft beer, drinks, and fresh cakes.

Leah added: "Once you’ve had a look around the stalls, our café and bar will be open, with plenty of space to sit with friends, have a late-night coffee or refreshing pint and grab some cake.

"It’s designed to be more than just a place to shop - it’s a relaxed evening to meet people, explore the building and discover some local makers and creatives."

Left Bank Night Market takes place on September 25 from 5pm to 9pm on Cardigan Road, Hyde Park, Leeds LS6 1LJ. Entrance is free or pay-what-you-can and ticket are available through the official Left Bank Leeds website.
