Electronic pioneer Max Cooper brings immersive 3D/AV live showcase to Leeds venue TESTBED - date and tickets
Electronic music pioneer Max Cooper is bringing his venue-customised 3D/AV Live performance system to Leeds this December as part of the opening season at TESTBED
Electronic music pioneer Max Cooper is set to bring his ground-breaking 3D/AV Live performance system to Leeds this winter for a one-off immersive audio-visual showcase.
Taking place this December at the newly refurbished event space TESTBED, the event marks the Leeds debut for live show curators Mastery as part of the venue’s celebrated opening season.
Customised specifically to the architecture of TESTBED, Cooper’s 3D/AV setup blends scientific concepts with human narrative, using light sculptures, projection arrays, and spatial sound to wrap around a standing audience.
The performance will draw on material from his latest album, Feeling Is Structure, alongside works spanning his extensive conceptual discography and brand-new compositions.
Moving seamlessly between ambient, classical textures, and club-focused techno, the show aims to chart the foundations of our world through sound and vision.
Adding to the line-up is Erased Tapes producer Rival Consoles, who will deliver his own immersive audio-visual live set interacting with the venue’s 3D/AV screen configuration.
Known for exploring the emotional depth of electronic sound over a career spanning nearly two decades, Rival Consoles’ performance will build from deep ambient passages into intricate, long-form atmospheric techno, featuring material from his latest release, Landscape from Memory.
Promoters Mastery, who focus on the psychology of creativity and the science of sound design, described the showcase as the start of a new chapter in the city: "Mastery is a curator of live shows and listening experiences, exploring the psychology of creativity, the art of performance, and the science of sound.
"Making our Leeds debut with this spectacular showcase, we are honoured to create within the newly refurbished walls of TESTBED, our new home in the city."
