One of the most decorated and iconic figures in cinematic history is headed for the city for one night only.

Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson has confirmed he will appear at the Centenary Pavilion on May 12 for an exclusive black-tie dinner.

The event, titled ‘An Experience With Mel Gibson’, offers a rare opportunity for Leeds fans to hear first-hand from the man behind legendary roles in Braveheart, Lethal Weapon, and Mad Max.

The evening is designed as a high-end celebration of Gibson’s decades-spanning career, featuring an intimate on-stage interview and a live Q&A session.

Produced by An Experience With - the team responsible for bringing titans like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to the UK - the night will blend fine dining with unseen stories and behind-the-scenes insights into some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

Despite the event being months away, the ‘Mel-mania’ has already hit West Yorkshire.

Organisers have confirmed that tickets are already 90% sold out, with fans snapping up the remaining spots to see the filmmaker in such a sophisticated setting.

With a strict black-tie dress code and a "once-in-a-lifetime" atmosphere, it is set to be one of the most talked-about red carpet events in the Leeds calendar for 2026.
