Influential post-rock band Mogwai have announced a special performance in Leeds as part of global celebrations marking 30 years since their debut release

Legendary post-rock group Mogwai have confirmed they will be coming to Leeds to celebrate 30 years since launching their self-owned independent record label, Rock Action Records and the release of their debut work.

To mark the occasion, the group has released a new video for their original debut single ‘Tuner’, featuring rare and unseen archive footage produced and edited by Antony Crook.

While the label originally started as a way for the band to release their own music, it has grown into a successful home for a diverse range of alternative talent.

Operating with a DIY ethos that reflects Glasgow’s celebrated musical history, Rock Action Records has gone on to release more than 150 records from local and international artists.

Notable independent acts supported by the label over the years include Arab Strap, The Twilight Sad, Kathryn Joseph, Cloth, Sacred Paws, Errors and Remember Remember.

Using brute sonic force mixed with subtlety and grace across 11 studio albums, Mogwai have built a fiercely loyal global following by staying true to their roots.

Their 10th studio album, As The Love Continues, famously secured the number one spot on the UK Official Albums Chart, while also earning a Mercury Prize nomination and winning the treasured Scottish Album of the Year award.

The upcoming tour schedule forms part of a wider international calendar celebrating the band's enduring live legacy. Their upcoming performances follow a busy summer of festival dates and one-off performances across the world, including a special appearance at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Festival, alongside upcoming dates in Melbourne and Brisbane.
