Peter Rabbit hopping into Leeds for free Easter storytime at the Merrion Centre

Families in Leeds are in for a ‘flopsy’ treat this Easter as one of the world’s most beloved literary characters prepares to take over the Merrion Centre.

The mischievous Peter Rabbit will be swapping Mr McGregor’s garden for the heart of Leeds city centre for a day of free live storytelling.

Taking place at 'The Green' on the centre’s main mall, the event offers a much-needed cost-free highlight for parents looking to navigate the school holidays without breaking the bank.

Young fans will get the chance to see Peter Rabbit up close as he appears alongside a live narrator to bring his famous adventures to life, so expect tales of his latest narrow escapes from the clutches of Mr McGregor, designed to spark the imaginations of the city's youngest shoppers.

The event is part of the Merrion Centre’s ongoing effort to provide high-quality entertainment for families during the often-expensive half-term periods.

James Broughton, Head of Marketing & Communications at Town Centre Securities PLC (owners of the Merrion Centre), spoke about the excitement surrounding the arrival of the literary favourite: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Peter Rabbit to the Merrion Centre this Easter.

“School holidays can be an expensive time for families, so providing free, memorable experiences in the city centre is something we’re incredibly passionate about."
