Spofforth's 'The Castle' hosts spring showcase for Leeds couples looking to tie the knot this season

Spring is officially the busiest season for wedding planning and a historic venue just a short drive from Leeds is opening its doors to help couples bring their Pinterest boards to life.

The Castle in Spofforth is hosting its Spring Wedding Showcase this month and, unlike the frantic, high-pressure wedding fayres of the past, this is a relaxed, drop-in event designed for couples who want to explore their options with a glass of fizz and a complimentary canapé in hand.

Visitors will have the chance to chat with a curated selection of the region's most trusted suppliers - from photographers who know how to capture that perfect Yorkshire light, to florists and stylists who can turn a blank canvas into a bespoke celebration.

While the event takes place in the stylish, contemporary setting of The Castle - complete with its dramatic retractable glass roof - the venue sits just a two-minute walk from the ruins of Spofforth Castle.

It’s a site where, according to local legend, the Magna Carta was first drafted in 1215.

For modern couples, history provides a 'magical backdrop' for photography, while the showcase itself focuses on the future.

When is the Spring Wedding Showcase taking place?

The Spring Wedding Showcase is taking place on March 21 from 11am to 2pm at The Castle in Spofforth, 35 High Street, HG3 1BQ.

Entry to the showcase at Castle Inn is completely free, and because it’s a drop-in event, there’s no need to book a ticket or an appointment.
