Squeeze announce Leeds First Direct Bank Arena date on 2026 tour
The band are set to donate £1 for each ticket sale to the Music Venues Trust and will offer collection points for donations to the Trussell Trust.
- The Tried, Tested and Trixies Tour marks the biggest headline run of Squeeze’s 50-year career, playing major arenas across the UK.
- The band will debut songs from their new album, ‘Trixies,’ which finally realises the musical vision of material originally written by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook as teenagers.
- Leeds is one of the destinations the band will be heading to, and they’ll be bringing Billy Bragg along for support in 2026.
Call them power-pop, call them New Wave, just make sure you call the box office, as UK legends Squeeze have announced a Leeds tour date as part of their widespread UK tour in 2026.
Not content with just headlining the tour this year, the group have also managed to rope in the one-and-only Billy Bragg as the support act for all their upcoming shows, including the Leeds First Bank Arena date next November.

The critically acclaimed group, known for their complex but accessible blend of styles, is set to release their new album, ‘Trixies,’ set for release on March 6 and is set for what they describe as their most ambitious UK tour to date, including their biggest headline shows and first-ever arena headlining slots.
More so than just a series of shows though, the tour will also act as a means of supporting two charities while on the road: £1 from every ticket sale will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, who look to continue their support towards grassroots music venues, artist and promoters, while fans are implored to bring food or cash donations to Trussell Trust collection points at each venue.
Squeeze, built around the unparalleled songwriting partnership of Chris Difford (lyrics) and Glenn Tilbrook (music), remains one of the most revered and distinctive voices in UK pop history. Their legacy spans over five decades of masterful pop craft and cultural impact.
Between 1978 and 1996, the band charted no fewer than eleven UK Top 40 singles, with classics like ‘Up The Junction’, ‘Cool For Cats’, and ‘Tempted’ weaving their way into the fabric of British songwriting tradition and influencing artists from Lily Allen to The Killers.
After taking a hiatus at the turn of the century to pursue solo projects, Difford and Tilbrook triumphantly reunited in 2007 for a run of stellar live shows. Their second chapter produced acclaimed new material, including Cradle To The Grave (2015) and The Knowledge (2017).
Following extensive touring to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, Squeeze enters a new, ambitious era, reinforcing their reputation as one of the great British live acts whose shows remain, as The Guardian wrote, "pop perfection."
