Alt-rock legends The Wonder Stuff have announced a massive UK tour for late 2026 to celebrate four decades since they first gathered in a rehearsal room.
The 16-date tour marks the 40th anniversary of the band’s formation in March 1986, with Leeds one of the lucky locations that get to celebrate with the group, along with very special guests Inspiral Carpets, who are hitting the road once again.
Reflecting on the milestone, frontman Miles Hunt said: “When the original line-up first rehearsed together on March 19th 1986 - exactly forty years ago today - I wonder what our thoughts might have been if we knew we’d still be playing together now?
“We are incredibly grateful to the audiences that have stuck with us.”

Formed in the heart of the Black Country in 1986, The Wonder Stuff quickly became one of the most bankable names in British alternative rock. Between
1988 and 1994, the band released four Top 20 albums, including the classic ‘The Eight Legged Groove Machine’ and the number three hit ‘Never Loved Elvis.’
Younger fans may know them best for their massive 1991 Number One single 'Dizzy', a collaboration with Leeds-born comedian Vic Reeves and comedy partner Bob Mortimer.
However, for the indie purists, the band's legacy was cemented by 13 Top 40 singles and headline slots at major festivals, including a career-defining performance at Reading Festival in 1992.
After a hiatus in the late 90s, the band reformed in 2000 and has since released five more studio albums, maintaining a dedicated cult following that spans generations.
