Brand new, world-class motorcycle trials to take over Otley town centre next month
Tthe high-precision world of urban trials to the Otley Showground next month with the inaugural Urban Super Trial event.
A brand-new motorcycle event, unlike anything Yorkshire has seen before, is heading to Otley this spring, transforming the town’s everyday architecture into a high-stakes arena for elite riders.
The inaugural Urban Super Trial will see nine of the UK and Europe's finest trials riders navigate a series of purpose-built sections constructed directly in the heart of the town.
Unlike traditional trials, which take place on natural terrain like hillsides and woodland, urban trials bring precision and skill into the city environment. Spectators can expect to see world champions tackling stairs, concrete blocks, walls, and raised platforms from just metres away.
The event features a timed knockout format where nine riders compete across six purpose-built sections, with the pressure building throughout the day toward a podium finish in the centre of town.
The confirmed lineup includes some of the most decorated names in the sport, such as North Yorkshire’s own Jack Peace, the 2024 FIM Trial2 World Champion and 2025 Scottish Six Days Trial winner, as well as 2023 FIM Trial2 World Champion Billy Green.
Beyond the competition, fans can explore an event village featuring industry traders, food vendors, and a Red Bull presence, complete with a DJ truck and start arch.
Speaking about the debut, Danny Cockshott, the Event Director at CL Events, regarded Otley as “the perfect setting - a vibrant town centre, a passionate local community, and the kind of environment that makes urban trials come alive
“The riders we have confirmed are genuinely among the best in the world, and seeing them perform at that level just a few feet in front of you is something you don't forget."
