'Why we're celebrating Leeds - with one question at a time as Trivial Pursuit heads to city centre' - LeedsBID
Why we’re delving into our city’s history - one question at a time - with free interactive Trivial Pursuit trail this summer ❓
Leeds is the midst of celebrating the 400th anniversary year of its first Royal Charter granted by King Charles I on July 13, 1626.

Happy Birthday Leeds!
As with any milestone birthday, there needs to be a celebration, some flags and bunting, and a party.
This is your invitation.
From Saturday July 25m until the end of August, Leeds is set to become a giant game board as Trivial Pursuit arrives in the city centre to celebrate this landmark moment in history.
LeedsBID has once again partnered with leading games and toy company Hasbro, following the incredible success of Monopoly Leeds Takeover in 2024.
Briggate will be adorned with celebratory flags, and you will be able to enjoy this free, family friendly interactive game across the city centre.
Key locations represent the six traditional Trivial Pursuit categories: Entertainment, Geography, Sports & Leisure, Science & Nature, History, and Art & Literature, and there are classic and junior questions so everyone can get involved.
To play, simply grab a game card and visit each location, answering questions and collecting wedges on the way, just like the classic trivia game.
A host of famous faces are helping the city to celebrate, with a rollcall of national and local names with a common Leeds connection, each appearing virtually to ask a special Question for today.
Among them are actors Bob Cryer, Jeremy Dyson, Angela Griffin, Jim Moir and Kate O’Toole, broadcaster John Craven, and Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey.
The spectacular Brodrick Hall, inside Leeds City Museum, named after architect Cuthbert Brodrick, who designed several of the city’s most iconic buildings, hosts the final stop of the game, showcasing the city’s key centenary milestones.
Each day, there will be a bonus question, with one lucky player winning a £500 Hays Travel voucher.
Focusing on the stories, achievements and surprising facts that have shaped Leeds over four centuries - this is a celebration of the city, told one question at a time.
With less than one month to go, you can get game ready at www.trivialpursuitleeds.com
