Big high street chain becomes the latest business set to arrive at Trinity Leeds

The UK’s largest independent fragrance retailer is set to take over a prominent vacant unit as part of a wave of major new openings ahead of next month's World Cup

Trinity Leeds is set to significantly strengthen its beauty and lifestyle offering after securing a new flagship store with leading high street retailer, The Fragrance Shop.

The UK’s largest independent fragrance retailer will move into the prominent city centre space formerly occupied by the LEGO Store, which opened their bigger space earlier in the year.

The flagship launch will showcase an extensive range of luxury, niche, designer, and everyday scent brands, alongside curated gift sets and bespoke in-store expert advice.

The move marks another aggressive step forward in the brand's national retail footprint, capitalising on Leeds' consistently high city-centre footfall.

Kam Birk, Director of Property at The Fragrance Shop, said: “The opening of our new Trinity Leeds store marks another milestone in The Fragrance Shop’s expansion. Trinity Leeds is a fantastic location with strong footfall and a great retail mix, making it an ideal home for our brand.

"We can’t wait to open our doors and deliver a standout fragrance experience to local customers.”

The signing is the latest in a rapid string of new arrivals and major upsizes at the shopping centre, which has recently welcomed the likes of Caribbean street food favourite Jerk Junction, footwear giant schuh, and a newly upsized LEGO Store layout.

Steven Foster, Centre Director at Trinity Leeds, welcomed the high street giant to the complex's line-up.

“We’re delighted to welcome The Fragrance Shop and offer our guests an even more extensive range of perfumes and beauty products," Foster said. "We look forward to seeing visitors enjoy the store and explore the fantastic range of fragrances and gifting options.”

The flagship announcement comes during a remarkably busy period of investment and development for Trinity Leeds, ahead of a bumper summer of sport and leisure.

Earlier this week, the brand new Lane7 (taking over the former Wilkos site) announced their opening week festivities, including a chance to play a few frames of free bowling, while, crucially for local sports fans, final preparations are underway at Trinity Kitchen to launch a massive, 1,000-person capacity fan zone just in time for the kick-off of the FIFA World Cup next month.

The centre has also quietly finalised a major infrastructure boost behind the scenes, injecting £2.5 million into a complete upgrade of its public toilet facilities to substantially elevate the day-to-day guest experience.
