From the sprawling Victorian grandeur of its heritage parks to the rugged, off-road trails of its ancient woodlands, our city offers a ‘green lung’ for every breed and energy level.
But as every dog walker knows, the only thing better than a long stroll in the fresh Yorkshire air is the promise of a warm welcome - and perhaps a bowl of water and a treat - at the finish line.
We’ve rounded up 13 of the most scenic and diverse walking spots across the city, ranging from inner-city havens to rural escapes, and, to make your next outing even easier, we’ve also scouted out a nearby dog-friendly pit stop for each location, so you and your pooch don't have to feel parched after walkies.

13. Bramley Fall Woods
Tucked away in West Leeds, this 80-acre woodland is a great spot for dogs who love to explore through the undergrowth. Once you've finished, head down to The Abbey Inn, which sits right on the canal at the bottom of the woods; its stone floors and waterside seating make it a practical and scenic choice for a post-woodland pint. | Bruce Rollinson
