Leeds United latest news as international break ends for one star with trio in action today
The latest Leeds United news and updates as international football continues.
Leeds United still have another two weeks before returning to action at Premier League champions Arsenal.
The combined September/October international break is in full swing with most nations heading into their second round of fixtures. A number of Leeds stars have been in action already, be it in the Nations League or autumn friendlies.
Wales suffered their second defeat of the break without scoring after losing 2-0 in Denmark. Craig Bellamy’s side are bottom of their Nations League group after also falling to a 1-0 defeat in Portugal last week but return home on Thursday against Norway.

First-team pair Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James featured in the Denmark defeat, both appearing to come through unscathed. But a senior international debut is yet to emerge for promising under-21s prospect Jayden Lienou.
Elsewhere on the international scene, Anton Stach’s shorter return to the Germany squad ended in a 1-0 defeat to Greece. The midfielder’s two appearances in this break both came off the bench and he’ll now depart, with head coach Jurgen Klopp naming two split squads.
The likes of Tarik Muharemovic, Nico Elvedi, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Trafford were also in action over the weekend. The latter started in goal for England during a 3-2 defeat against world champions Spain.
A trio of Whites stars will hope to represent their countries today, the earliest being Ao Tanaka whose Japan host Venezuela later this morning UK time. Gudmundsson’s Sweden host Poland this evening while Muharemovic’s Bosnia and Herzegovina travel to Romania.
Again, all Leeds players look to have come through unscathed so far, which hasn’t been the case elsewhere in the Premier League. A number of the Whites’ upcoming opponents have injury scares including Arsenal, whose striker Kai Havertz left the Germany camp early.
We will keep you up to date with any Leeds-related news throughout the day so stay tuned...
