Leeds United transfer news: Igor Paixao twist, Sunderland agreement denied, Mykhailo Mudryk pursuit

The latest Leeds United transfer news throughout the day including updates on Igor Paixao and Mykhailo Mudryk

Leeds United now have just six days to conclude their summer transfer business and it’s expected to be a busy period in West Yorkshire.

Daniel Farke’s side have enjoyed a near-perfect start to their 2026/27 campaign, winning twice at Nottingham Forest in two competitions without conceding. A 2-0 Carabao Cup win at the City Ground on Tuesday has set up a third round meeting with Chelsea or Luton Town next month.

Next up for Leeds is Brentford at home on Sunday but while the squad remain focused on that, club chiefs are working hard in the background. The Whites are known to still want reinforcements with Farke admitting this week he is ‘cautiously optimistic’ of a good end to the window.

Could that end to the window bring a left-sided attacker? Leeds are certainly looking at strengthening the position with Mykhailo Mudryk the subject of a loan offer from Elland Road. Chelsea rejected that offer, however, and according to reports down south no longer see a move to West Yorkshire as viable.

Unsurprisingly, they want Mudryk to join their sister club Strasbourg but the Ukrainian is believed to be open to a Leeds move, with his preference being to remain in the Premier League. It’s set to be an interesting final few days regarding the winger.

Leeds also reignited interest in Igor Paixao earlier this summer but there hasn’t been any palpable progress beyond that. The Brazilian could be on his way to the Premier League though, with reports emerging yesterday that Sunderland had reached an agreement with the winger and were in talks with Marseille.

Added depth is also needed across a range of positions, including goalkeeper where Eintracht Frankfurt’s Michael Zetterer is of interest. Leeds want to sign the experienced shot-stopper but a deal rests on his current club sourcing a replacement, while any deal will also likely affect Lucas Perri’s future.

It’s set to be a very busy six days across the Premier League and not least at Leeds. Stay tuned for live transfer updates throughout the day...
