Leeds Gig Guide: Femi Kuti, Chapterhouse, Just Mustard and the rest of this weekend's biggest concerts
Noise-rock, afrobeat and some good old-fashioned shoegaze - here’s what to expect from the city’s music scene this weekend.
The ‘Godmother of Punk’ may have dominated the local headlines earlier this week with the long-awaited news that Joan Jett is finally heading to the city this summer, but the Leeds music scene certainly isn't hitting the pause button until July.
In fact, with the spring sun expected to push temperatures up to a balmy 20°c, the next 72 hours are shaping up to be some of the busiest of the year so far.
Whether you’re looking for a post-work sonic fix on Friday, a sunshine-fuelled celebration on Saturday, or a nostalgic Sunday matinee to wind down the weekend, we’ve sifted through the listings to find the absolute must-sees across the city.
Ditch the garden DIY—here is your definitive guide to what's hitting the front row from Friday through to Sunday.
This weekend’s concert highlights in Leeds

Just Mustard (Brudenell Social Club - Friday)
If you like your music with a side of sonic intensity, the Irish quintet are the only place to be on Friday night.
Known for a cold, industrial brand of shoegaze that feels like it’s being played in a beautiful wind tunnel, their live show at the Brudenell is set to be one of those "I was there" moments for the local crowd.
Femi Kuti & The Positive Force (Leeds Stylus - Saturday)
The eldest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti is a four-time Grammy nominee who has spent decades refining a sound that is as politically charged as it is danceable.
Backed by his legendary 13-piece band, The Positive Force, Femi will be showcasing tracks from his 2025 release ‘Journey Through Life’ alongside his signature high-octane saxophone and trumpet solos.
With the Leeds sun expected to hit 20°c on Saturday, the tropical, brass-heavy energy at Stylus will be the perfect match for the weather.
Chapterhouse (Brudenell Social Club - Sunday)
For the crate-diggers and shoegaze purists, this is the ‘holy grail’ of the weekend.
Chapterhouse have returned for a strictly limited 35th Anniversary Tour of their seminal 1991 debut album, ‘Whirlpool.’ Widely considered one of the definitive records of the era, this is a rare chance to hear tracks like ‘Pearl’ and ‘Mesmerise’ performed live with the original swirling, hypnotic energy that defined the early 90s indie scene.
It’s a nostalgic, immersive curtain closer for the weekend that is already showing as a sell-out on most platforms.
