Sex Pistols members Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock will bring their 'Anarchy In The U.K.' 50th anniversary tour to Leeds this December with frontman Frank Carter
It’s been 50 years since the iconic (or iconoclastic, should that be) ‘Anarchy In The U.K’ was released by punk icons the Sex Pistols, and this December three of the band's original members team up again with Frank Carter to celebrate the milestone.
Original members Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock will perform in the city as part of an expanded UK winter run celebrating half a century since the seminal 1976 single redefined British rock music.
Reflecting on the tour and performing the band's classic catalogue five decades on, guitarist Steve Jones said: "We're having a blast - we're like a well-oiled machine right now - and it's been incredible to get out there with these songs we wrote 50 years ago. We love it.”
“Frank's a great frontman and really gets the crowd going. Every person in the audience loves these songs as much as we do, and it’s an absolute pleasure to get out there and play them.”
Drummer Paul Cook added: "With Anarchy, I think we tapped into a feeling of unrest around the country at the time.
“The message was pretty simple - just have a go and get out there and do whatever you want to do. It was a new world."
