Could one of the Dogs Trust Leeds dogs of the month be your new family member in April?
Meet the lovable dogs at Dogs Trust Leeds - including a gentle Greyhound and a one-of-a-kind Staffy - searching for their forever homes this month
For decades, the dedicated team at Dogs Trust Leeds has been working tirelessly to mend broken hearts, build canine confidence, and match thousands of rescue dogs with their perfect forever families.
Walking through the doors of the York Road rehoming centre, you will find dogs of every age, breed, and background. Some are bouncy puppies looking for a bustling family environment, while others are older, gentler souls who simply want a quiet place to rest their paws, finally.
Finding the right match is a fine art.
For some dogs, the hustle and bustle of a busy household, loud noises, or sharing a living room with other pets can be incredibly overwhelming - especially if they have led a sheltered life before arriving at the shelter.
If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and are willing to let a rescue dog blossom at their own pace, your new best friend might just be waiting for you.
Here are three incredible dogs currently looking for a quiet place to call their own.
Leeds Dogs Trust’s dogs of the month - April 2026

Trout
- Breed: Greyhoune
- Age: Four year old
Four-year-old Greyhound Trout is a beautiful, gentle soul who is looking for a very special adopter to help him navigate the world. Unlike many dogs, Trout has led a very sheltered life and has no previous experience of living indoors as a companion animal.
To help him adjust to his new life without feeling overwhelmed, the team at Leeds Dogs Trust are looking for a quiet, adult-only environment where he can be the sole pet. While he may be a little timid at first as he learns the ropes of domestic life, this sweet-natured boy is just crying out for a bit of TLC.
Once he feels safe, secure, and settled, his incredibly loyal personality will undoubtedly shine through, making him a wonderful addition to a peaceful household.
Hunter

- Breed: Husy
- Age: Three years old
If you are looking for a dog with a big personality, look no further than three-year-old Husky, Hunter. True to his breed, he is a gloriously vocal boy who loves nothing more than a stimulating outdoor walk and plenty of human company.
While he might not be the type to immediately curl up on the sofa for a snuggle, he is showing himself to be more interactive day by day as his confidence grows. Because he isn't the most social pooch when it comes to his fellow canines, Hunter is looking for an adult-only forever home where he can be the only pet and the absolute centre of your world.
To keep him happy and relaxed, he will need an adopter who can take him on quiet, rural walks far away from the hustle and bustle of busy dog parks.
If you understand the independent Husky spirit and have a peaceful environment to offer, Hunter is ready to find his perfect match.
Milo

- Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
- Age: Five years old
Meet Milo, an absolutely gorgeous five-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has firmly cemented himself as a firm favourite at Dogs Trust Leeds.
While he might need just a little bit of time and space to figure you out initially, once you are in his exclusive club, you are a member for life. Known for leaning right in for a proper cuddle, his carers lovingly describe him as "one of a kind" thanks to his deeply affectionate nature and the incredibly strong bonds he forms with his human friends.
Milo is actually a highly sociable chap who has made a massive circle of canine friends during his time at the centre. However, when it comes to his forever home, sharing a house with other animals makes it too difficult for him to switch off and settle into a solid routine truly.
Because of this, he is looking for a loving, adult-only home where he can be the only pet - ensuring he gets all the undivided attention this spectacular Staffy deserves.
