Pioneering cut-and-paste maestro DJ Yoda added to Sunday line-up for Leeds' new Roundhay Festival
A world-class scratch DJ and festival veteran is set to bring a spectacular 90s audio-visual finale to Roundhay Park this summer
A legendary hip-hop turntablist has been added to the bill for Leeds’ massive new summer music festival next month.
DJ Yoda will bring his acclaimed 90s Mixtape Live show to American Express presents Roundhay Festival on July 5.
The London-born DJ and producer is set to close out the final day of the weekend with a fast-paced, immersive audio-visual set immediately following the 'All Things Orchestral' event in Roundhay Park.

Known as one of the UK’s most inventive turntablists, DJ Yoda's spectacular live show will weave - or ‘cut and paste’ in his own terms - together 90s nostalgia across music, film, and television. The performance will blend tracks from the likes of Blur, Britney Spears, and Notorious B.I.G. with iconic clips from ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘Forrest Gump,’ and ‘Seinfeld.’
Rather than a standard DJ set, Yoda acts as an audio-visual mixologist, sampling live video alongside vinyl on stage to transform recognisable classics and hidden gems into rapid-fire, nostalgic sequences. To bring the performance to life, the festival will utilise its massive main stage screens and custom lighting rigs to create a fully immersive, open-air spectacular.
Having spent decades cementing his reputation as a world-class scratch DJ, Yoda is no stranger to the big stage, boasting a resume that includes standout sets at Glastonbury, Coachella, and Ibiza, alongside unique collaborations with everyone from Dr Dre to brass bands.
The addition of DJ Yoda rounds off a packed Sunday schedule for the debut festival.
Earlier in the day, the world-renowned Hallé Orchestra - conducted by Stephen Bell - will take Leeds audiences on a journey through cinematic classics.
The orchestral event will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Myleene Klass MBE, featuring a special guest performance from one of Britain's most celebrated tenors, Alfie Boe OBE.
The three-day event marks a major return to live music for Roundhay Park, which has previously hosted historic gigs by the likes of Michael Jackson, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones.
The three-day festival kicks off on Friday, July 3, with a high-energy pop and rap bill headlined by Pitbull, alongside Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah, and Lil Jon, while Saturday night sees Lewis Capaldi take to the Roundhay stage with support from Conan Gray, Jessie Murph, Nieve Ella, Ber, Maya Lane, Kerr Mercer and Jacob Alon.
Tickets for all three days are on sale now via Roundhay Festival’s website, as well as official outlets Ticketmaster, AXS, and Leeds Ticket Hub. Early booking is advised as weekend slots are expected to sell fast.
